Maybe your ally casted Impath on him. Or some short of spells. Illusion Weapon are not meelee attack, there is no way Gladiator Defensive return this meelee atk. I have not tried yet but The description say, Illusion Weapon deals none damage on meelee attack. Gladiator defned description says Whenever you block a melee attack this way, the attacker suffers 5-29 damage. If it does happeneed then it's a bug. or You might mistaken your -29 damages not his -29 damages.

I experience that afting fighting for a while with any warrior they just either find other target or just run away. hehehe

By the way, this game is freaking team vs team, so no matter what how good your build is you can never win if your team is sux .

I don't want to get into a pissing contest, but having tried both mes/w and w/mes, revolving around IW builds, I'll definately side with the fact that a mes/w has a significant advantage.

Using a superior rune is somewhat offset by a larger Illusion of Weakness buff.

My illusion skill is 16, which deals 42 illusion damage a swing. I'd rather not share my entire build but it's substantially more effective than a w/mes that's attempting to accomplish similar goals: Shutdown, root, high dps.

Granted, it may seem silly to see a female mesmer in red lingerie brandishing a fell blade and shield, but as more people try to figure out ways of dealing damage that bypasses common armor types, or even altogether, it is becoming a more level playing field for us "not an official tank" types.
